"Estella's work is an interesting combination of cutout dolls, animated collage, and music/video installation. Estella Mare is a German artist who creates a cosmos woven of childhood memories, doll houses, and castles from cut-outs inspired by paper-dolls. The cut-outs can be arranged haphazardly, allowing them to take up their own space and create their own constellations. Mare's work inspires curiosity in viewers, urging them to start their own processes of imagination from a point of childhood naiveté."
